The Guildhall is a council-owned building that is used jointly as council offices, the council chamber, a bookable events space and open to the public. For a building with this many jobs, including earning an income from events, it had never had a clear brand image other than the logo. I created a brand, colour palette inspired by the Assembly Room ceiling and ornate illustrative borders, which were then used to refresh the wayfinding in the building. It was important to us that braille was included, and I was instrumental in sourcing the supplier for this to ensure it was done correctly. We worked directly with the RNIB's team to make the signage as accessible as possible.
